At the beginning of the year, I decided to start tracking the mornings I go to the gym to ensure I work out three to five times a week. Since February, I had grand plans to work out the maximum number of times a week (for me, that's five) and lose five pounds (you know, as a "wardrobe updater" so my clothes will fit slightly differently and thus better.) But life has a way of laughing in your face and I didn't really work out at all this month so far. Between Matt's sickness and my catching it...yep, I caught his bug. I shouldn't be surprised, since I am his wife but it sucked. I handled it pretty well, being the "stronger sex" and all. But the real surprise is that...I lost five pounds anyway. Being unwell will do that for you.
Everyone wins!
I have recently been called to the Bar and work as a junior associate at a downtown litigation boutique. Life has never been easy but, thanks to the people in my life and the opportunities I've grabbed for, it sure has been interesting.

Love it, love it, love it.
Have you ever watched those old newsreels that would play in movie houses in the 1930s and 40s? I always secretly hoped I could watch a modern one, as it makes the news so quirky and interesting. Well, imagine my sheer delight when I found this:

My parents opening our gift Christmas Day
Thank you technology and thank you, M. My sweet sister. Watching the video, it was like I was there watching you all open your gifts, which I suppose is the point. But really, having spent so many Christmases away from home, it is such a treat to be there...but also still be in sunny Florida sipping Bloody Marys (my new favorite.)
unbelievable!

Been Away for Far Too Long...
I have been so entrenched in reading medical records and responding to defense pleadings that I have neglected my blog. Won't be the last time, I'm sure. Also, my husband has been sick, so when I come home in the late afternoon I am busy attending to him, making him soup, keeping him comfortable. Sweet guy. It seems that men have a lower threashold of pain and discomfort than women. Stranger still, women are considered the "weaker sex." Weaker to whom? But my husband is so sweet and grateful for my attention, so cuddly in his discomfort, that I can't help but love him.
Superbowl was fun. M. had some friends over and while I slipped away to the comfort and coffee of the bookstore to study for the first two hours, I came back in time for half-time and Prince and ended up enjoying being the only "chick" at the party.
